5 Ways To Create Content When Life Gets Busy

Life as a business owner is always going to be pretty damn busy. That’s just a fact. But, we all have times where things feel more chaotic than we might like and, when that happens, creating content for social media can sometimes feel like even more of a chore.

So, if life feels hectic right now, here are some simple strategies that will help you continue to show up consistently on social media and create content that will share your message with the world!

  1. Ditch Canva. Instead, create straight into the Instagram app using only the tools there. There is no such thing as a perfect post and, as we should remind ourselves daily, the search for perfection is just procrastination in disguise. Sometimes, something simple can be equally effective as something you have spent hours agonising over. Remember, it’s the messaging that matters.

  2. Make sure to save the stories you created with any key information you know you will need to share again. Details of your offers and services probably aren’t changing so is there really any point recreating these multiple times over the course of the week? Anyone already interested in your offers will only want to be able to access the important details and see where to sign up. The hard work happens elsewhere.

  3. Embrace video where you can. We are told endlessly that it is the medium that gets the most engagement, but it can also be the most simple way to share what you have to say. Speaking directly to the camera allows you to capture your message in a way that reflects exactly what you want to say but also conveys your passion and personality in a way that you might spend a lifetime trying to recreate in your copy.

  4. Choose to document your days in a way that is looking to make the connections with your work, rather than the other way around. Storytelling sells. But being a good storyteller is simply about doing up the dots. Rather that starting with the topic you want to talk about and finding ways to represent that, look for the relevant lessons in what you are already doing and simply capture that.

  5. Continue to commit to create and share. Despite the million other things that will fill the week, make sure that you remind yourself why you need to show up on social media. It can be so easy for it to slip so far down the list of to-dos that it falls off completely. Instead, make it your no-negotiable and just got it done. And, almost like magic, you will feel a million times better about all the things to do with you business once it is done!

But, like it or not, we all know that the secret to staying on top of showing up on social media is always going to be a fail safe strategy and a plan with real purpose.
